ABOUT CHAD

Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, 22-year old New York saxophonist, is a graduate of the Brubeck Institute in California, and a multiple DownBeat Magazine Student Music Award winner. During his scholastic career he won a total of 14 DownBeat SMAs including Best High School Jazz Soloist, Best Collegiate Original Composition, and Best Collegiate Jazz Group for his work in the prestigious Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet. Chad has shared the stage with some of the most influential names in jazz including Dave Brubeck, McCoy Tyner and Christian McBride. Venues that Chad has performed at include international jazz festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival and the Monterey Jazz Festival, as well as world-renowned jazz clubs such as the Dizzys Club Coca Cola and Blues Alley. An experienced composer, Chad was one of twelve musicians selected to the Dave Douglas Workshop for Creative Composition and Improvisation at Carnegie Hall in 2010. Chad currently performs and records with many different musical groups throughout New York City and abroad.
